I must admit that I was a little disappointed that only 5 indivdiuals fished the match but I think you have to bear in mind that all of the Monklands guys were away at Angel of the North (sadly missing out on going through to the next round by a single point), most of the Central guys chose to go to Orchill which was almost a sell out, and most of the mighty Magiscroft had already qualified. I also think that having had to pack in so many qualifiers in such a short period of time meant that cost became a very real issue for many - especially when fishing the qualifier and then the league match required most to get a hotel. Next years qualifiers will be far better spread throughout the year and will hopefully as a result enjoy better attendance and better fishing. Dates will be out soon so keep you ear to the ground.

Tight Lines,

Gus
