Match Report:
Ten anglers fished this weeks match on the Woodside Pond from 11am till 4pm. The match was fished for the first 4 hours in constant rain and for the last hour in sunshine and clouds of midges who made the best of the blood on offer once the rain that had grounded them stopped. It's a hands up by me for putting in a peg for an angler who didn't turn up giving the winner a bonus end peg with 4 pegs empty to his right. These things happen and I would do the same again next week. Certain there will be a valid reason for the no show.
Well Colin Hart took great advantage of his bonus peg 12 and fished himself into the record books once more with a stunning catch of 57Lb-6oz of mostly carp. What a 7 days Colin has had, he's not just on fire he's taking every pond apart with his expertise. Big well done to Colin as he adds to his impressive list of Magiscroft Pond Records.
If we pretend Colin wasn't there the remainder of the anglers had a great match around the Pond where catches in mid teens and early 20s were the order of the day. Second Place went to John Perella catching 23Lb-8oz from Peg 16. Third place was hotly contested with Derek Brady taking it with 21Lb-12oz from Peg 22 with Geoff Lowe just 7oz back catching 21Lb-5oz from peg 7.
Great début by Alan McManus catching 7Lb-8oz overcoming his nerves re taking part in a match. Alan was disappointed in his weight, Alan your weight was great for your first match considering your pole couldn't reach the far bank. ( Another bonus for CHART as if he needed one. )
Well done to Alex Mason in last place catching 6Lb-9oz from an awkward peg for a pensioner in his mid 60s.
Next weeks match will be on the Island Pond.
Tommy Lauriston.
