Looking forward to the report George but I would think it would be difficult to do other than how you fished yourself !!!
I thought Woody looked a bit dissapointed yesterday, maybe because he hadn't managed to win his section as he had done on the Saturday but I thought he did extremley well for his fiirst full international at senior level and proved that he deserved to be in the team.
I think Sunday was a bit more nail biting than the Saturday as Scotland only had a 2 point advantage that came and went as people caught fish through out the day. Don't know what it was like from a fishing point of veiw but the rain never failed to dampen the spectators spirits even though it was really heavy at times. Pity not more people were there on the Sunday but I hear that the Saturday was well attended.

absolutly brillient. one of my best days out. well worth going to. great report so far george cant wait to see the rest of it. this celtic cup has got me all the more excited for next week when i also make my international debut at bron efion in wales. cant wait. also after watching all the various method of what to do when things arent working and timing with feeding proved to be valid and will hopefully benefit me. satarday was also very good. didnt seemuch of the match because i was in a match of my own (literly) but thanks to gary mckay for all the help then off we went to see the last hour and the weigh in which, as martin said, was nail iting with only getting a 2 point advantage but then sunday changed things around for a comfortable win and ( as celtic fans will sing del ) weve got 3-in-a-row and youve noo :D only kidding but well done scotland and congrats to all especially woody for showing what he can do :D :D

Hi all, I watched this years celtic cup and as a veteran spectator of 4 celtic cups, 1 junior celtic cup, 1 six nations and 3 world champs I have to say that I can see the giant strides that have been made by the national team in the last few years. This augurs well for a successful world champs in September on the Spinadesco canal in Italy. Even though the teams were close after day 1 you could sense the relaxed spirit in the team that would eventually see them blitz the field on the 2nd day.

While there wasn't as many spectators as I would have thought for such a prestigious event I'm sure everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. I obviously have to mention the debut of big Woody who didn't look out of place in this elite company and if anything gave the impression of a veteran at this level. His enthusiasm is such that he rushed back from work to win the Monday night match on the island pond after fishing 9 of the previous 11 days what with practice sessions etc.

On another note I spent most of the Sunday behind Woody's peg where I was joined by the young Irish angler who had been dropped from the previous day (Connor Browne). It was great to talk fishing with him and I really appreciated his honesty as he told me he had made his international debut the day prior and found himself pegged next to none other than Jamie Masson. He said to himself "oh shit! ". His nerves were getting the better of him when he slipped and dropped all of his casters and badly sprained his arm. He also said that he spoke to Jamie after the all out and Jamie told him to come and see him after the match to show him his rigs etc. What else can be said about Jamie Masson that hasn't already been said? 9 carp down after an hour and on a peg that had struggled the previous day. As G.G said "He's not bad is he"?

Before I end can I say good luck to the juniors who are fishing the celtic cup at Bron Eiffon in Criccieth, Wales this weekend.:D :D :D

All

Thanks for the kind comments.
I was really pleased with the teams performance and it hopefully sets us up well for Italy. it was great to see of all our anglers catch carp both days and Woody and Ian having excellent debuts as well as Jamie showing his class again. Were now developing a good core squad of very strong anglers that will only get stronger in the coming years.
Thanks for those that turned up to watch , hopefully you enjoyed it and learnt some new things.

Also big well done to the juniors. This can only bode well for the future.

Cheers

Chris
