Funny that you mentioned Peg 1 Alan. After a very cold night and fog up until 1pm today Jamie McGradie pleasure fished Peg 1 today. The following was his reward for his efforts.

The first match was fished on the shallower Main Loch today. It was a small match and there will be a further two matches on it Saturday and Sunday.

What a day.

Fished the feeder on the main loch today. I had a packet of prawns and a packet of mussels that cost me £1.70, and a bag of feed. With my ticket it cost me about a tenner for the most enjoyable days fishing I've ever had. Fished a peg (don't know the number) on the opposite side from the cafe bank, near where the life bouy is stored. Ronnie advised to cast close in as the warmer weather would bring the fish into the shallows. And was he right!. Two rod lengths out, starting 1000 hours, there was no lull in action as I took fish after fish on my feeder rig with a 3lb, 18 inch hooklink and using mircropellets to load the feeder. I guess I took around 15 to 20 fish (all F1's I'm told). Biggest must have been around 6lb. What a yank you get. My 10 ft Drennan red feeder rod is perfect for the croft and with the clutch set correctly on my baitrunner reel the sound of the reel screaming every 10 - 15 minutes stopped me dosing off in the sun.
The fish were in very good condition with some great scraps, not always from the biggest fish.

Looks like the new 'Bowl' is going to be very popular. Great fun.

It was a cracking day up the Croft for a Tuesday in March. There is certainly not a shortage of Carp in the Main Loch with them there for everyone to view sunbathing up in the water get their backs warmed up. There are certainly loads of big fish swimming up and down. For those on the surface there are many more on the deck as your catch proved Therealigin.

The aerators are running again in the Main Loch and 6 days will see all the water turned over and the deeper waters heating up instead of remaining cold. Can't believe that anglers were catching on the splash waggler in March. happy days. Can't wait to Friday for the Friday match. Wooooohoooooooooo.

Today with the aeration in full swing saw the sunbathing fish disappear of the surface.

Frank Smith fished Peg 45 and after a slow start got the Carp Feeding and as the day wore on the Carp came fast and furious. The following is the latter part of his day captured in photographs. Well done once more Frank this week 67Lb-10oz not a bad days fishing. At the weigh-in one young spectator TJ thinks that his fish on the Top Pond weighed more. ;) :D :D :D :D

I've had a great couple of days fishing over the past week with two nets 75lb+ and 67lb on the new looking main loch.I kept things simple fishing two lines 5m and 11m, the 11m line was a paste line and 5m line pellet. The skimmers seem to have a taste for paste as the float would not settle, although I was catching the odd carp on this line skimmers ended out to be the main fish caught , not that I was complaining as I love fishing for silvers. My inside line I fished pellet, feeding 3mm expanders with 4mm and 6mm on the hook, the 6mm took the carp up to 8lb and 4mm skimmers and Bream to 3lb.Its only March and the water is stll cold, what will the fishing be like once the water heats up cant wait, and with the water 3ft lower in the new look Main Loch it wont take long.

It was around 8/9 degrees so no too bad . It dropped to 6ish for the Monday night match.
As of now, it's just started snowing in Glasgow again :-(

Should be a fun match tomorrow.......

On Monday 9th April Scott Laird fished peg 7 of the Main loch over match hours. Although it was cold and wet it didn't deter the fish feeding Scott caught 65Lb-2oz of Carp and Bream to complete a good days fishing in any book.
