Birch Ponds Report

Big Birch Pond

Still giving great fishing in all conditions. Plenty of Carp between 1lb and 3lb, best 4lb. Paste is often working well to sort out the larger Carp. Fishing to the Islands still productive, but people are still neglecting the margins where you can also catch plenty of fish, especially in corners and near features. All baits and methods working with pellet and corn consistent for Carp. Chub, Orfe and Ide still going well and worm is still working well as well as caster and maggot.

Smaller Birch Pond

Sport has really warmed up now and the pond is fishing well particularly with more small carp showing. Maggot and pellet are good baits and working equally well. More Roach than the other pond and still possible to catch double figures just targetting Roach with maggot.

PLEASE ADD YOUR REPORTS AND UPDATES TO THIS TOPIC :D

Fished the smaller pond recently. Loadsa smallish roach and gudgeon taking double maggot on the waggler. Carp seemed to be high up in the water (it was warm) and not interested in feeding. Lovely ponds to fish tho.

Monday 17/05/10

Fished The Small birch pond again this evening and the carp were on top form. Caught around 10 Carp, 2 Mirrors and the rest common, not to mention Roach, Gudgeon, Perch and Chub. Here's the pick of the bunch!

I never saw you Darren? where abouts on the main loch, If I'd known I would have come over for a chat. I should be up next Monday and I think its time I hit the island as I want to go for Tench and Carp, hopefully will see you there :thumb
