fished the big birch pond today it was great days fishing caught loads of roach even needed to land a few in the net so am well happy as am still learning how to do coarse fishing last week fished ma first b div match on the island pond and caught a grand total of 4oz lol so this week am well chuffed brought ma nephew for his first visit and he loved it cant wait to learn more about coarse fishing :D :D :D :D :D :D

The Birch Ponds along with the Woodside Pond and Railway Pond are excellent venues to have at this time of year. Both have a good head of silver fish and are sheltered from the elements. In winter we want to see the floats going under and all these ponds provide that. Not everyone's cup of tea but each to their own. Glad you had a good time Mr beginner.

The following is a photograph of young Steven's catch from last Monday on Birches one. Once more a two hour session with one to one tuition.
