There yyou have it, took a long time coming this year but come it did. Shaun fishing Peg Number 1 on Magiscroft's Main Loch caught the following mirror carp which was weighed in by Ronnie as 17Lb-3oz. An excelent capture Shaun and you will hold the record for a week or so as the carp feeds up for the winter piling on weight and like last year will be caught almost weekly throughout September October.

Interesting comparing this fish to the carp I had at 17lb 4oz in June. Whilst the scales are incredibly similar, I think that they are different fish. It's been said that there are several in the upper teens that look almost identical. Does anyone have a handle on how many there are? Having done a lot of surface fishing the past 6 weeks, I regularly see the big girls on the top, and whilst they often attempt to take my bait, they seem to be so short sighted that they nearly always miss!
