I've got some ideas on this and may be able to offer something to take it further. I'll try it and if it works I'll let the International guys know. :think

That tapered leader really, really works! :clap :clap I set two up and fished one of them on Saturday. It must be more than 15 years since I last fished a slider for coarse fish and I noticed a difference first cast. So congratulations to Ronnie for a simple solution to a previously challenging technique.

I will never fish a slider again without the tapered leader. :D

On the "taking in further" point, I thought, "why stop at a tapered leader and why not use polyleaders..intermediate, slow sink, fast sink etc". Well, I never got past Ronnies original idea because it was just too nice to cast. Magi doesn't need that sort of complication but it might apply in fast moving waters. Anyway it's not back to the drawing board....more like back to reality...(maybe) ;)
